A New Song - Missoula Montana Grief support and resource center Grief support for suicide, bereavement, divorce, elder care, and chronic illness.

Our Purpose

A New Song evolved out of the desire to provide a safe, reassuring place for those who are grieving. The lending library offers resources and materials to help people understand the processes involved in a healthy grief journey. The center is owned and operated by Dan and Pat Kendall whose son Josh, died by suicide in September 2000.

In addition to providing resources and materials, the Kendalls are committed to the philosophy of "companioning" those in crisis. Companioning has the sense of coming alongside individuals, helping them discover for themselves what they need for their own journey through grief and loss.

A New Song is not a counseling center, but rather, a self-learning center staffed by caring and compassionate people who listen without judgment.

A New Song is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization funded by private donations to the Joshua Kendall Memorial Foundation. Memorials and other donations are always welcome and appreciated.
